Kitchen Cabinet Doors for Apt

Year built: 20006, 2007
Plan: My Design - replaced old

In the previous post I took on the project of building all new kitchen cabinets for one of the apartment units.

Over the next couple of years, as people either moved out or were evicted, I decided to upgrade the kitchens with new cabinet doors. The originals were just cheap particle board with contact paper on them.

So, I used the design from the prior project and instead of building all new cabinets, I just made the doors and then veneered the fronts of all the existing cabinets.

I think I did this in a couple of apartments. The doors turned out pretty good, not up to any kind of standard for our house mind you! But, good enough for the "crappy apartments" as we generally call them.

Only thing that did not turn out too well was the veneer on the face of cabinets. With the abuse they take, some of the veneer has chipped away and has had to be repaired. The doors themselves, in general, are decent and have held up well.
